State funding breathes new life into Sitka school budget

SITKA, ALASKA A significant boost in state education funding has breathed new life into the Sitka school district budget.
Local school board members who made a second lobbying trip to Juneau in the last week of the session reported back to their colleagues that “we got nearly everything we wanted.”

Sitka XC boys place first, girls second at Region V race

The Sitka boys cross country team took home first place at the recent Region V race (09/24/16), with Mt. Edgecumbe coming in second. The girls finished second behind Petersburg, and Mt. Edgecumbe girls placed third. more
