Takatz hydro key to Sitka's energy future?

SITKA, ALASKA The Takatz Lake hydro project is back on the table for Sitka.
The Sitka assembly met Wednesday evening (5-21-08) to discuss next year’s budget for the electrical department, but it may as well have been the first meeting of a local, sustainable energy task force.
The discussion of the day-to-day costs of operating the electric utility took a back seat to planning for the day when Sitka is almost completely powered by electricity.

Tuesday, October 6, is election day in Sitka for assembly and school board. Because of construction work at Harrigan, Precinct 1 voters will cast ballots at Grace Harbor Church on HPR across from SeaMart. Precinct 2 voters at St. Gregory’s on Lincoln Street. If you’re unsure, you can vote at either location using a question ballot. And when you want to find out who's won, tune in Raven Radio for live election returns beginning at 8 PM.
