Obama campaign to open Sitka office?

SITKA, ALASKA Presidential politics have arrived in Sitka.
Staff and volunteers for the Obama campaign last week canvassed over 5-hundred homes in the community.
Statewide campaign officials were unwilling to announce whether the canvassing effort signaled that Sitka would be the site of the next Obama office in Alaska, but it appears likely that one will open here – a definite first for the town.

Sitka lab issues shellfish advisory across Southeast

Shellfish in Southeast are showing a high risk for biotoxins, specifically those that cause PSP. On Monday (5-25-16), the Sitka Tribe of Alaska's Environmental Research Lab (STAERL) found elevated levels of toxins at beaches in Sitka, Petersburg, Klawock, and Craig. more
