Sitka PD to pass on hybrid patrol cars — for now

SITKA, ALASKA The Sitka assembly’s triennial debate over purchasing new police cars took a new turn this year.
The Sitka assembly Tuesday night (12-9-08) steered clear of its usual discussion of whether the community was over-patrolled or under-served, and instead discussed whether the time was right to try out hybrid patrol cars.

The Naa Kahidi Dancers performed at the Sheet'ka Kwan Naa Kahidi on Saturday to celebrate the group's 20th anniversary. The Naa Kahidi Dancers were founded in 1994 by Chuck Miller, who began dancing when he was three years old, in the Sitka Native Education Program.
