School board incumbents to push for district funding

SITKA, ALASKA Two incumbents are running unopposed to re-claim their seats on the Sitka School Board this October.
Cass Pook and Tom Conley are both multiple-term veterans on the board. They hope to engage the community the coming year in a conversation about the importance of school funding in a difficult economy.
KCAW’s Robert Woolsey sat down recently with both candidates to discuss the issues:

Taylor White and David Kreiss-Tomkins, coordinators for Sitka Ultimate, were joined by Fairbanks player Brad Bishop, to talk about the 10th Annual Ultimate Frisbee Hat Tournament this Sunday (07-26-15) at Krueger Soccer Field. The three players talk about what makes Ultimate Frisbee unique, which includes self-policing by the players (there are no referees), the physics behind Frisbee throwing, and epic layouts to catch these flying plastic discs. more
