Murkowski talks earmarks, Blue Lake at UAS meeting

SITKA, ALASKA Sen. Lisa Murkowski paid an official visit to Sitka today, meeting first with the school district, and touring some classes. At 2 PM this afternoon she hosted a meeting of Sitka agencies on the Sitka campus of UAS. KCAW’s Ed Ronco shadowed the senator today. He phoned in this update from UAS.

Sitka lab issues shellfish advisory across Southeast

Shellfish in Southeast are showing a high risk for biotoxins, specifically those that cause PSP. On Monday (5-25-16), the Sitka Tribe of Alaska's Environmental Research Lab (STAERL) found elevated levels of toxins at beaches in Sitka, Petersburg, Klawock, and Craig. more
