‘Community curating’ puts your work on display at historical museum

Sitka Historical Museum Curator Jackie Fernandez says community curating can give you a voice in the museum. The goal, she says, is to expand the presence of Sitkans. The upcoming exhibit will feature community photography.

After a summer cocooned in scaffolding, the Sitka Sound Science Center shed its tarps for an Alaska Day unveiling ceremony. The three-year, $1.4-million dollar effort overhauled the exterior of the 1930-era Sage Building, which once housed the science programs at Sheldon Jackson College. more
