Mt. Edgecumbe High School in Sitka graduated 89 students on Thursday (5-3-12) in the Sitka Performing Arts Center. September Campbell-Burkett delivered the Salutatory Address; Abigayle Fisher was Valedictorian. Graduating students hail from all across the state: From St. Paul Island to Nanwalek, Kwethluk, Koyuk, Bethel, and Hoonah (to name a very few!). Nice work grads — and keep smiling!

The National Weather Service issued a special marine warning this afternoon, after a local pilot reported a waterspout off Middle Island, near Sitka. The waterspout was reported around noon, moving north. more
