FASD Awareness Day set for Sunday

Gayle Young is with the Sitka Neurodevelopmental Diagnostic Clinic. She says more parents are coming forward to have children evaluated for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, as the shame drops from this syndrome. This Sunday (9-7-12) is International FASD Awareness Day. Young says local professionals will use the coincidence to try and distribute information in churches.

Sitka's Alaska Day celebrations got underway early Saturday morning (10-18-14) with a ribbon cutting at the Sitka Sound Science Center to celebrate the renovation of the center's Sage Building.
