Collaboration ‘makes things happen’ at camp

Javier Barboza teaches animation at the Sitka Fine Arts Camp; Ed Littlefield teaches percussion. They discuss the role of collaboration during the short, intense high school session at camp. The two are performing this week during faculty “Art Shares” at camp (7PM thru Wed Jul 10, Odess Theater, Allen Hall). Sitka lab issues shellfish advisory across Southeast

Shellfish in Southeast are showing a high risk for biotoxins, specifically those that cause PSP. On Monday (5-25-16), the Sitka Tribe of Alaska's Environmental Research Lab (STAERL) found elevated levels of toxins at beaches in Sitka, Petersburg, Klawock, and Craig. more

In a packed gym of beaming family and friends, seventy students became alumni of Sitka High School. Speeches were given. Selfies were taken. And while students and staff reflected on the journey ahead, many paid homage to their Sitka roots. more
