Native Jazz Quartet pianist Reuel Lubag and percussionist Ed Littlefield will perform a CD release concert (7:30 PM Wed Jul 17, Odess Theater, $15 at the door) with fellow musicians Christian Fabian on bass, and Jason Marsalis on vibes. The concert is a part of this year’s Native Jazz Workshop happening now at the Sitka Fine Arts Camp.

Sitka was one of 170 communities that took to the streets today for the Choose Respect March, a statewide effort to end domestic violence and sexual assault. In a 2012 victimization survey conducted in Sitka, 47% of adult women reported experiencing intimate partner violence, sexual violence, or both. more
