Sitka 2013 Election: FINAL unofficial results

Tuesday, October 1, 2013 is municipal election day in Sitka. Voters in the community went to the polls to elect two assembly members, one school board member, and to decide one ballot proposition.

Here are the FINAL unofficial results from the day’s balloting:

Assembly (elect 2)

Aaron Swanson —  668
Benjamen Miyasato —  639
Steven Eisenbeisz (write-in) —  583
Other write-ins — 40

School Board (elect 1)

Lon Garrison —  824
Stephen Courtright —  318
Write-ins — 15

Prop 1

YES —  859
NO —  350

There are 77 absentee ballots to be counted no later than Friday, October 8. Because only 1 ballot has yet to be received, election officials may choose to count absentees sooner.
