These boots were made for running

Saturday (9/28/13) was the 19th annual Running of Boots in Sitka — and as usual, it was a costumed affair, with a smattering of stripes, florals, and polka dots on the starting line alongside plenty of plain xtra tufs. It’s a celebration of the end of the tourist season – inspired by the Running of the Bulls. A fireman, a pirate, and even a school of fish competed for the ultimate honor of fastest boot.
