LISTEN: Town Hall Meeting on Sitka’s finances

On Thursday, February 27, city administrator Mark Gorman and a panel of Sitka’s previous administrators John Stein, Gary Paxton, and Hugh Bevan held a TOWN HALL Meeting to discuss how to balance Sitka’s resources and expectations as a community. The meeting was broadcas live on Raven Radio.

Sitka to sell several properties to Silver Bay Seafoods

Selling off the park is within the GPIP board's mission: “Unlike other property owned by the 
municipality, the former Alaska Pulp Corporation mill site was acquired not for governmental

Sitka will sell off a significant portion of its land at the Gary Paxton Industrial Park. The Assembly approved the sale at its meeting Tuesday night. It’s the first of what may be several sales at the former pulp mill site. more

Artesian well cleaned to improve flows; will be open tomorrow

The Forest Service temporarily closed the artesian well for system inspection last Wednesday (1-21-15). District Ranger Perry Edwards says the water was always safe to drink. The problem was that it was coming out too slowly. more
