A host of “Alaska Day” performances are coming up. Jeff Budd shares the line-up for tomorrow’s Monthly Grind, while Ira Snelling discusses Paris of the Pacific, a period melodrama about the 1867 Alaska Purchase. Sarah Lawrie, the director of the Greater Sitka Arts Council, talks about this year’s Sitka Artisans Market with some new additions, including a community mural project and merger with the Holiday Craft Party.

The Grind is this Saturday, October 11th at 7pm at Sheet’ka Kwaan Naa Kahidi Community House.  Tickets are $5 at Old Harbor Books. Free entry for those who bring a dessert to share. For more information contact Jeff Budd at 747-4821 or 747-ARTS (2787).

The 13th Annual Sitka Artisans Market & Holiday Craft Party is December 5th and 6th is at Allen Hall on the Sitka Fine Arts Campus. It will open with a Gala event beginning at 4:30 pm on Friday. The Market will be open from 10:00-6:00 on Saturday December 6th and will culminate with the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Sheldon Jackson campus. Free for all.
