Thomas C. Moore is a Ohio-based oboist and audio recording producer. Moore was joined by SSMF Artistic Director Zuill Bailey to talk about oboe music through the centuries and his Grammy-winning audio production work.

As part of the Sitka Summer Music Festival, Moore will be giving concerts in Sitka throughout the week. Today (06-04-15), he will perform Mozart on the oboe at a free lunchtime concert at 12:30 p.m. in the Odess Theater at Allen Hall. Moore will also perform on Friday (06-05-15) at 7:30 p.m. Harrigan Centennial Hall with pianist Navah Perlman.

Moore has served as Principal Oboist with the Ohio Chamber Orchestra and Cleveland Opera Orchestra. He is also an audio recording producer, first for Telarc International for 16 years, and now for his own company, called Five/Four Productions. While at Telarc he earned four Grammy awards.

In 2008, More won his fourth GRAMMY Award for producing “A Love Supreme” with the Turtle Island String Quartet, whose members then included violinist Mads Tolling. Tolling was a featured performer at this year’s Sitka Jazz Festival.
