With two bodies already recovered, crews are focusing their full efforts Thursday afternoon (8-20-15) on locating the body of 62-year-old William Stortz, Sitka’s building official. Stortz was inspecting drainage in the subdivision at the time of the slide with two other men who managed to escape. As the excavator moves closer to the site identified by search dogs, teams will begin removing debris by hand.
