Gil Truitt, a local historian, has donated a collection of historical images to the Sitka Tribe of Alaska. The prints span the mid-twentieth century in Southeast Alaska, depicting mostly sports and tribal citizens in Sitka. Many are copies of prints by E.W. Merrill. The images are on display at 456 Katlian Street from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Friday, October 16th.

Truitt talks about his favorite images, particularly of the basketball teams at ANB Hall. Truitt has recieved hundreds of images over the years and wants to make copies available to anyone who asks. Truitt is also looking for a permanent home for these images. For more information, contact Christine Paul at 747-7314.
