When we learned last week that Freda Aron was in hospice care, and then on Friday that she had died, the sorrow was short-lived. As regular listeners of "The Frankie and Freda Show" will recall, Freda was comfortable with her mortality, and -- while fully engaged with this life -- was more than just a little giddy about what awaited her in the next. She had two names on her dance card in heaven: her husband Richard Aron and Frank Sinatra. Only Freda knows who got the first dance!
What an amazing community we live in! Enjoy the Stardust slideshow more by clicking on it to get to the Picasa website, then look for the full screen button in the upper left corner. Thanks for the great photos Bobbi Jordan!
We have met our $50,000 goal! Thanks to everyone that contributed to our Fall Fund Drive. Many of you love the new One Day Drive - and we do, too - it saves the station time and money, and allows staff and volunteers to spend more time making radio and less time fundraising! Because the drive is only one day long, we miss some folks that want to help, so it can take a little longer to reach the goal, but that's ok, so long as we get there! If we missed you on this one day drive, please support our effort to streamline our fund drives by contributing now at kcaw.org. Thank you!
