SITKA, ALASKA Traffic safety has been a hot topic this winter in Sitka. Several months’ debate over a roundabout proved that there are as many opinions as drivers in the community. But even though that particular project has been thwarted, the state Dept. of Transportation continues to study traffic hazards in Sitka — both real and perceived. KCAWs Robert Woolsey spent some time with a DOT engineer recently as she sized up a stretch of road considered to be among the most dangerous in town.
