Troll’s “Musical Science Hour” mixes fun, old bones

Ketchikan artist and musician Ray Troll is a Guggenheim Fellow. His new book will be called "Cruising the Eternal Coastline." Troll will be performing with Sitka musicians under the name "The Ratfish Wranglers" 7 PM tonight (Fri 3-9-12) at the Sheet'ka Kwaán Naa Kahídi, talking about palenontology and ichthyology, and discussing his fishy art. It's reportedly "more fun than a bucket of eels."

The Sitka Assembly on Tuesday postponed a measure to give some advance money to the Sitka School District. But the conversation began with Mayor Cheryl Westover removing the measure’s sponsor from the conversation.

Sitka school board addresses alleged bus assault

The board asked Supt. Steve Bradshaw to make sure bus drivers are clear that they need to keep older and younger students separated. They also asked building principals to check buses when they arrive to ensure that the separation is happening.
