On Tuesday morning, just before 9 a.m., the Celebrity Century became the first cruise ship to dock at Old Sitka, about five miles north of downtown Sitka. The private dock, installed by Halibut Point Marine, is vying for cruise traffic. Vessels in Sitka usually anchor just south of downtown and bring their passengers to shore in smaller vessels.
