Fab4 Streetball to play benefit against Sitka ‘All-Stars’

Edgecumbe campus). It’s a benefit for the high school activities scholarship fund, which supports student participation in extra-curricular activies.

Audio Postcard: Music, culture to resonate from Sitka

The Sitka Summer Music Festival’s artistic director, Zuill Bailey, is in Sitka this week to kick off the festival’s capital campaign. Two years ago a board member purchased Stevenson Hall on the SJ campus for use as a headquarters for the festival. Bailey told the Sitka Chamber of Commerce yesterday (11-12-12), that the primary goal of festival fund raising this year was to put Stevenson Hall in the festival’s name. "We now have a mothership in Sitka," he said.

The Alaska Department of Fish & Game announced the guideline harvest level for the 2013 Sitka Sound sac roe herring fishery Wednesday. It is 11,055 tons. The number represents a dramatic decrease from prior years.
