KCAW is broadcasting in Sitka again as of 11:30am Thursday, July 6th. Raven Radio’s broadcast signals, on 104.7 and 90.1 FM were dropping out sporadically as of 2am on the Fourth of July and then went out for good on Wednesday morning when a component of the transmitter failed. We installed a spare component, called an “exciter”, but that also failed, so we had to get together a third solution, which is working wonderfully! We apologize for the inconvenience and would like to give a big shout out to the incredible engineering skills of CoastAlaska Chief of Engineering Rich Parker…all done remotely! Thanks Rich!
