The University of Alaska system is recognizing today as Indigenous Peoples’ Day – instead of Columbus Day- for the first time. Academic Advisor Amelia Budd and Personal Education Planner Crystal Duncan discuss this shift and the free events planned at at UAS this evening.

Monday, October 9, from 6-8 p.m. at UAS Sitka Campus- opening remarks, breakout sessions including a speakers’ panel on deer, deer hoof rattle making, formline drawing, and closing with art exhibit and refreshments in the atrium.
