Spring is here, and that means Sitka Sound will soon be bustling with returning herring, whales and other marine creatures. The Sitka Sound Science Center’s annual Food Web Cruise will provide an opportunity for participants to see that action up-close while learning from expert naturalists about the marine food web.

Kari Paustian, Matt Goff, and Tiffany Pearson joined KCAW’s Erin Fulton to share more about the upcoming cruise, which is a fundraiser for Sitka Whalefest. In addition to having brunch and sight-seeing, participants will be the first to learn the theme for this year’s Whalefest. Listen to the full interview here:

The 2024 Food Web Cruise will be Saturday, March 30 from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tickets include brunch and can be purchased here.
