Tsunami warning cancelled for Cook Inlet, Kenai area

A magnitude 7.2 earthquake located approximately 30 miles southwest of Palmer at 8:28 am this morning (Friday, November 30, 2018) prompted authorities to issue a Tsunami Warning for the coastal areas of Cook Inlet and the Southern Kenai Peninsula. The warning was CANCELLED as of 10:00 am. Coastal Southeast Alaska was not included in the tsunami warning area.

Butt Cleanup Day is scheduled this month for Thursday, November 29, 1:30-3:00 pm beginning at the back of the Salvation Army.
