ANB Harbor replacement moves forward

Work began on Sitka’s ANB Harbor in November. The $7.7 million project will demolish the existing structures and replace them with new floats and pilings by early spring. But a small invader in the harbor has added a wrinkle to the usual process.

Two Sitka hunters injured as boat strikes cliff

Two Sitka hunters sustained serious injuries Tuesday evening (12-17-13), after their boat struck a cliff in Kakul Narrows, about 25 miles north of town. 34-year old Nick Galanin is being treated for spinal fractures at SEARHC's Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka. 37-year old Mitch McGraw was medevacked to Seattle.
