Commentary: Youth should ‘come together for the sake of our state’ to combat climate change

My name is Kate Zaczkowski. I am a four year senior at MEHS. I’m from Tok, a town with a population of around 2,000 people, located 90 miles from the Canadian border. Last month, I got the chance to give testimony regarding the climate change resolution at the assembly board meeting. Assembly budgets for police officer signing bonuses

The city budget is far from finalized, but the Sitka Assembly weighed in on how to spend a few more dollars when it met on Thursday night (3-5-2020), voting to fund two lobbying contracts, and offer $5,000 signing bonuses to three new police officers.
