Sitka voters this October will fill four municipal seats – two on the assembly and two on the school board. The four candidates who have filed for those seats met for the first election forum of the season this week at the Sitka Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Wednesday (9-23-09).

Candidates for Southeast’s District 2 House seat are now focusing on the November 2nd general election. That’s because Republican primary challenger Steven Samuelson of Petersburg last week conceded the race to incumbent Peggy Wilson of Wrangell.That puts Wilson up against Sitka Democrat Reber Stein, who faced no primary opposition.
