Alyeska chief says TAPS could supply oil ‘for another 40 years’
The Trans Alaska Pipeline is 40 years old, and Tom Barrett thinks it could last another 40 years. The Alyeska president says that engineers are keeping the 800-mile long, 48-inch steel pipeline in service, at lower flow rates than it was designed for.
