Two groups of Sitka High students marched out of school on Friday, both calling for safer schools but advocating for different solutions. And even though he’s not a fan of protests, senior Anders Marius wanted to create an opportunity for students with a different perspective on gun reform to have their voices heard.
About one-hundred residents and students attended the first public budget hearing by the Sitka School Board Wednesday night (3-23-16). 99 of them favored keeping the Performing Arts Center open.
The Sitka High Drama, Debate, and Forensics took second-place overall in the state meet in Anchorage last weekend (Feb 19-20), continuing their winning tradition.
