Sitka voters hand a big wins to marijuana tax and marine haulout
Sitka voters overwhelmingly approved a proposition to use public funds to build a marine haulout and boatyard, giving the project 80-percent of the vote. A new tax on marijuana also passed with 57-percent of the vote. The proceeds will support school activities.
