The board of Sitka's Gary Paxton Industrial Park unanimously supports putting a ballot proposition before voters this fall that would use the proceeds from the sale of Sitka Community Hospital to build a new marine haulout.
Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy on Friday (11-15-19) attended graduation ceremonies of the Alaska Law Enforcement Training Academy in Sitka. It was the first time any state governor in recent memory had attended the academy’s graduation ceremonies.
Trooper Chad Goeden co-teaches hunter safety for the Alaska Department of Fish & Game. The next class is being held this Friday and Saturday, with an online portion required in advance of the class session. The course is for students age 11 and older. There is a $10 dollar registration fee.
