EPA gives OK to scuttle troublesome Juneau tug
The feds have given Juneau port officials permission to sink the WWII-era tugboat in more than 8,000 feet of water in a precise location about 50 miles offshore. The Lumberman has long been a fixture in Juneau's Gastineau Channel with city, state and federal officials squabbling over whose responsibility the derelict vessel should be.
