<p><a href="https://www.facebook.com/WalkMSSitka" target="_blank">Sitka’s Walk MS</a> will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2016 starting at the Sawmill Cove Industrial Park. The 1.5 fun walk will travel along the Sea Walk to Whale Park. Transport is available for walkers from Whale Park back to the industrial park. <p>Colleen Dalquist and Patricia Atkinson are the local coordinators of <a href="www.walkms.org" target="_blank">Walk MS</a>, a national initiative to connect people living with MS and their caregivers. Begun in 1988, the walk has raised more than $870 million for programs and research by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.</p>
<p>Dalquist and Atkinson decided to bring the walk to Sitka this year and to share their personal experiences. Dalquist was diagnosed with MS in 2006, while Atkinson is a caregiver for family members.</p>
