Judge to resolve email standoff in Sitka homicide case
An effort by the City of Sitka to keep some emails out of a murder trial involving two former municipal employees will be resolved in a judge’s chambers. Judge David George has ordered that over 1,800 emails seized from the computer of Reuben Yerkes be turned over the court for ex parte in camera review.

Two Southeast attorneys have been nominated to succeed Sitka Superior Court judge David George, who will retire from the bench in April. Jude Pate and Julie Willoughby were selected Monday (1-8-18) by the Alaska Judicial Council after background checks, interviews, and a public hearing in the Sitka courthouse.
