Troll opener slow-going in places, despite average harvest

This year’s summer troll opening in Southeast – by most accounts -- got off to a slow start on July first. It was hit-or-miss for many of the over five-hundred permit holders who were allowed their first crack at wild king salmon for the summer, with catch rates varying significantly depending on location.
