Scholar examines Ricketts, Calvin connection

Dr. Katie Rodger is a lecturer at UC Davis, and a student of the life of marine biologist Ed Ricketts, who is known to the literary world as "Doc" in John Steinbeck's "Cannery Row." It was Ricketts' collaboration with Sitka writer Jack Calvin, however, that produced one of the most seminal texts on marine ecology ever written, "Between Pacific Tides."
