<p>Brian Beall has been the run coordinator for the past 20-plus years. This year he stepped down but is still lending a hand. He will act as the master of ceremonies for the race. SEARHC&#8217;s Health Outreach department kindly agreed to sponsor the race this year and Heleena van Veen will be acting as the coordinator with the support of the Science Center. Beall is joined by WhaleFest coordinator Alex Thorne.</p>

<p>$5 for 5K or 10K, Free for walkers</p>

<p>Kerry Maclane, the organizer for the Running of the Boots, was joined by Lilly Mayo to talk about the 21st Annual Running of the Boots. This annual event is an end of the season celebration that features a costume contest, live music, and a fun run in Xtratuf boots. The celebration will be held on Saturday, September 26th beginning at 10am. The event is a fundraiser for the <a href="http://sitkalocalfoodsnetwork.org/" target="_blank">Sitka Local Foods Network</a> and this year, additional donations made during lunch will go towards high school sports.</p>
