Work on HPR to stretch into September
Work on Sitka’s Halibut Point Road will extend into the fall, several weeks longer than originally planned, after contractors ran into some unexpected obstacles buried within the road bed.

HPR detour in effect Tuesday
Drivers on Halibut Point Road should be prepared for detours Tuesday, because of road work. Starting at 8 a.m. Halibut Point Road will be closed to outbound traffic from the roundabout to Kashevaroff Street. Drivers will be routed along Lake Street to Edgecumbe Drive. The detour will be in effect until Wednesday morning.
