KCAW's Peter Apathy spoke with Jasmine Shaw with Sitka Kitch and Sitka's own celebrity chef, Mohan Raj Arul. On Tuesday, Jan. 15, Mohan will be teaching students how to cook chicken biryani, a classic Indian and Pakistani dish made with chicken, rice and lots of rich spices.
This Saturday, September 16 Sitka children are invited to participate in Kidical Mass, a family-friendly bike ride from the tennis courts to Keet Gooshi Heen, where there will be pedal-powered smoothies and a skills course.

Every year, the Sitka Conservation Society hosts a Wild Foods Potluck. It’s an edible celebration of all that can be picked, plucked, hunted, fished, grown, and gathered in Sitka. This year, over 150 people attended and brought dishes to the Alaska Native Brotherhood Founders Hall.
