<p>Sitka Fine Arts Camp&#8217;s annual Jazz on the Waterfront event is coming up on June 28 at Odess Theater. The event will feature a 20-piece big band covering hits in a tribute to Quincy Jones. Roger Schmidt and Lily Pérez joined KCAW&#8217;s Brooke Schafer to discuss the event. Listen to the full interview below: </p>

<p>Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are available <a href="https://fineartscamp.ticketspice.com/jazz-on-the-waterfront-2025">here</a> and include appetizers, dinner, and an open bar. The event is a fundraiser to replace the deteriorating roof of the Odess Theater. </p>

The event, which includes dinner and dessert, is a fundraiser for Sitka Fine Arts Camp. <p>With Middle School camp coming to a close, 240+ campers will be delivering their final performances every night from Wednesday to Friday at the Sitka Performing Arts Center. The campers will be showcasing everything they learned during their stay, which will include physical theater, dance and visual arts.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s really some of the most driven, exciting and talented youth of Alaska and also all over the country too. It&#8217;s really fun to watch them get ready,&#8221; Roger Schmidt said.</p>

<p>Roger Schmidt, director of Sitka Fine Arts Camp (SFAC) and faculty member Dan Lendzian preview upcoming performances by middle school campers who have been at the camp since June 12th. They also discuss SFAC&#8217;s annual fundraiser Jazz on the Waterfront.</p>
<p>Final Performances: June 22, 23, 24 at 7pm at the Sitka Performing Arts Center Afternoon Showcase June 24 1‐4pm, Sitka Fine Arts Campus.</p>
<p>Jazz on the Waterfront. Saturday June 25, 7pm, Odess Theater, $65 tickets include dinner and music.</p>
