PBS premiere: ‘Real Boy’ a journey through transition to acceptance
An award-winning film premiering on PBS tonight (6-19-17) has an Alaska connection. Real Boy is the story of a transgender youth launching a career as a musician in the Bay Area of California. The film was directed by Shaleece Haas, a former news intern at KCAW in Sitka.
