Tribe says Sitka Seawalk a possible threat to ancient mariculture site
Planners have found a manmade rock wall on the sea floor, along the proposed route of the Sitka Seawalk extension. The Sitka Tribe believes it could be a clam garden, traditionally used for mariculture by the indigenous cultures of the Pacific Northwest.
