<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Registration is now open for Boys Run I toowú klatseen. The ten-week program for third to fifth grade boys, coordinated by the Pathways Coalition, is composed of running, discussion, and culturally-based activities that honor Southeast Alaska traditional values. The program, which includes 20 lessons and culminates in a 5k Fun Run, focuses on building healthy relationships, social-emotional skills, and cultural awareness through running games and storytelling. Claire Weber, the afternoon school prevention specialist at Sitkans Against Family Violence, and Kevin Knox, manager of Parks and Recreation, joined KCAW for the Morning Interview to discuss the program and their need for coaches. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">The final Sitka Tells Tales event of the year is next Tuesday (12-16-25), and it is partnering with Pathways Coalition to present Sitkan&#8217;s stories relating to unpacking masculinity in their lives and undoing harmful messaging related to it. Ellen Frankenstein, Amanda Capitummino, and Bobby Pendleton join KCAW for the Morning Interview to share what attendees can expect from the event.</p>

Coordinator Katie Niedermeyer and students Maddie and Natalie joined KCAW&#8217;s Brooke Schafer to talk about why they participate in the program and how they&#8217;re feeling about the upcoming fun run. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Girls in third through fifth grade can now register to participate in the 14th season of Girls on the Run, an after-school program that inspires girls to make healthy choices while training for an end-of-season 5k run.  Katie Niedermeyer and Barbara Quinn joined KCAW&#8217;s Erin Fulton to discuss the upcoming season.
