Prop. 1, the so-called marijuana tax, could be sending $300,000 to Sitka Schools in a couple of years. The district want public input on how to distribute the funding. KCAW's Robert Woolsey reports from the November 1 Sitka School Board meeting.
Voters in Sitka will see a plastic bag ban on the municipal ballot this fall. If passed, single-use plastic bags would be banned at local retailers, which would be required to charge a fee for paper bags.
