Youth Advocates of Sitka was recently awarded a three-year federal Transitional Living Program (TLP) grant aimed at combating homelessness among Sitka youth by housing them with volunteers. Taking care of the homeless is an ongoing problem, and it’s not limited to adults. There is also a large, and less visible, population of homeless kids. A Sitka family shares about their experience with a program that places homeless youth in community homes. It's the only one in Alaska, and one of very few in the nation. Read More
