A Sitka man who was charged with evidence tampering after his daughter killed a cyclist in a hit-and-run won’t stand trial. The state’s case against Richard Mulligan was dismissed earlier this month after a Superior Court judge threw out improperly collected evidence against him.
A lawsuit brought by former police detective Ryan Silva against the City of Sitka is going before a mediator, and could be settled out of court. A related suit involving fellow detective Mary Ferguson remains on track for trial.

Former Sitka Mayor Marko Dapcevich will not appeal his lawsuit against the City of Sitka over the procurement of a new dock at the Gary Paxton Industrial Park. In exchange, the city has dropped its claim against Dapcevich for legal fees.
