SITKA, ALASKA Candidates for mayor in Sitka were among the first to offer reactions to the news that True Alaska Bottling had shut down.
TAB bottled water in Alaska under the name “True” until last Friday (9-26-08) at Sitka’s Sawmill Cove Industrial Park. Bottling was one of the first industries to move in to the site of the former Alaska Pulp Corporation mill.
Most of the public learned of the shutdown Tuesday afternoon (9-30-08). The candidates for mayor discussed the news during a scheduled forum that evening on KCAW.
